UPDATE: Body of missing woman found east of Napanee

A week-long search for a missing woman east of Napanee has come to a tragic end.

Maria DeWagner (Meyering), 56, was reported missing on April 14 after she left her home in Loyalist Township the previous afternoon.

Several specialized OPP units were brought in to assist in the search for DeWagner, including a Canine Unit, a helicoper and unmanned aerial systems.

On Wednesday, at approximately 3:45 p.m., her body was located on her property. Police are not searching for any suspects and there are not any public safety issues.

The Coroner attended the scene and a post-mortem examination has been scheduled for Thursday at Kingston Hospital. 

Officials with the OPP have said they would like to thank all members of the public for their assistance in this incident.

The first run of Foley bus 487 w/c is running 20 minutes late to the Madoc-area this morning. The 2nd run of 487 is now running 15 minutes late to Marmora.

The 2nd run of First Student Canada - Picton bus 602 is running 15 minutes late to Picton this morning.

The 2nd run of C. Smith bus 893 is running 20 minutes late to Batawa this morning.
