Lights over Lake Ontario for three nights

Search and Rescue personnel from CFB Trenton will be testing their skills over Lake Ontario the next three nights.

A base public affairs officer, Lieutenant Karyn Mazurek, says 424 Transport and Rescue Squadron is conducting flare training south of Brighton from 8:30 until midnight Tuesday, Apr. 18 to Thursday, Apr. 20.

A CC-130H Hercules airplane will be in the area, dropping  yellow-white flares from an altitude no higher than 5,500 feet above sea level.

The training supports nighttime search and rescue missions, and allows the squadron to practice night flying and spotting procedures.
