INGRID’S FAVOURITE THINGS: Roses and diamonds and chocolate, oh my!

Gearing up for Valentine's Day? Some gift ideas to help you on your way!

A taste of spring, a pop of colour. Roses can make someone’s Valentine's Day.

Tradition says a pink rose can also convey happiness, gracefulness and admiration. Yellow roses create warm feelings and provide happiness.

Giving yellow roses can tell someone the joy they bring you and the friendship you share. Orange roses mean desire, enthusiasm and passion.

Red roses are the traditional symbol of love, romance and a way to say "I love you".

Let's be real. There are no wrong roses! I just happen to adore these hot pink roses from Live, Love and Laugh because they are fun and beautiful and twist on the traditional red roses.

Other Valentine's Day gift ideas:

A lot of buzz for the "dancing diamond" necklace from Divine Diamonds in the Quinte Mall.

Why not? It is jaw dropping gorgeous!

Go big or go home they say. In this case go big then head home secure in the knowledge you are going to knock her socks off this Valentine's Day.

I love this necklace as a different take on the traditional heart.

When I was gazing at it, the salesperson at People's Jewellers told me it is a popular choice for anyone in the health care field.

I just thought it was fun and funky way to show someone you get their pulse racing.

Latest trend is Alex and Ani bracelets . You stack ‘em and wear them as a pile or choose one as your favorite to layer with other bracelets. You can never have too many.

Found these at Charm jewellers and they have some great options for Valentine's Day.

And there is chocolate. But is has to be special....and good.

It NEEDS to be good chocolate.

I am a huge devotee of Queen of the Kitchen handmade truffles.

The store is located at 255 Glen Miller Road in Trenton.

I can't express how good these are. I had a box at the station last week.

I did share, but I also did eat most of them (with the excuse I needed to try each and every flavour for research purposes)

They are meant to be savored and it is a little bit of heaven in every bite. Even those who say they are on a diet will indulge because well...they are just that good.

Happy shopping and remember if you don't get anything for Valentine's Day, go treat yourself!
