Glen Miller man receives Peace Tower Flag

A young Glen Miller-area man has received a Canadian flag that flew at the Peace Tower on Parliament Hill.

Bay of Quinte MP Neil Ellis was joined by Mayor Jim Harrison today at City Hall to present a flag to Frank Edison.

His uncle, also named Frank Edison, applied in 1998, shortly after his nephew was born, to receive a flag flown at the tower, and it was on display on January 16th, 2017.

Ellis said requesting a flag today would result in a wait of about 63 years, and Edison got his at the age of 19.

The man's father, Gerard Edison, said receiving the flag during Canada's 150th anniversary year is amazing, and he and his son are extremely happy with how it all panned out.
