Firefighters help paramedics in Consecon

Prince Edward County firefighters have helped paramedics at the scene of a medical distress call in Consecon.
Deputy Fire Chief Robert Rutter says fire personnel were training at the Consecon hall at around 8:40 on Tuesday evening, when they got a call from ambulance officials.
They had responded to a medical alert alarm at a house on Main Street, and  found an unconscious man inside and the home filled with smoke.
Firefighters discovered a smoking frying pan on the stove, and ventilated the residence after assisting paramedics in moving the man to an ambulance.
Hastings-Quinte E-M-S Chief Doug Socha says the man and two paramedics were treated at Trenton Memorial Hospital for smoke inhalation, and then released.
