CHEAP SEATS: Good partnerships a key to a growing community
One of the most important ways for groups, events, even communities to grow is through partnerships – different organizations working together not only for their benefit but for the benefit of the wider area as a whole.
Last weekend, one such new partnership showed how well that can work when the Belleville Downtown Improvement Association and the Belleville Chamber of Commerce teamed up for Savour the Chill and Stay a While.
Despite horrendous rain early in the day Saturday, the event still brought hundreds of people to the core and to downtown businesses – making it a win-win for both businesses and residents alike.
Now another partnership has been announced, not just for one weekend but for most of the month of March.
Quintelicious, the bi-annual food event hosted by the Quinte Restaurant Association, will run from March 2 to 26 with 14 restaurants in Belleville and Trenton celebrating local food.
But in addition, this year’s event will add the partnership of Quinte Craft, a new group of local brewers and producers dedicated to supporting and promoting the craft beer industry in Quinte.
So rather than just serving local foods, restaurants will feature and suggest local craft beer and cider pairings with each course.
A win for local food suppliers, a win for local restaurants and a win for local brewers and cider producers.
And all of it good for all of us in Quinte.
