Busy day on Thursday for Prince Edward County Council
Members of Prince Edward County Council have a busy day planned for Thursday.
They will meet at Shire Hall in Picton at noon for the regular council meeting that was cancelled on Tuesday evening because of the winter storm.
A number of items are on the agenda, including a closed session to discuss a new contract for the county's 140 volunteer firefighters.
Their old deal expired in November, 2015, and a three-year memorandum of understanding was reached early last month during negotiations between volunteer representatives and municipal officials.
Council will then meet at one o'clock as Committee of the Whole, with eight speakers listed among the deputations, including three people from "Save Picton Bay," concerned about water quality and business issues related to the proposed expansion of the Picton Terminals.
