Belleville Police represented at Police Hero of the Year Awards



Belleville Police have won runner up trophies at the Police Association of Ontario's Hero of the Year Awards ceremony.
 
Detective-Sergeant Pat Kellar and Constable Todd Bennett had been nominated by members of the public for consideration in the "on duty difference maker" and "community role model" categories.
 
They were two of only six officers on the final list from over 300 candidates for the two awards, which were presented at the association's annual general meeting in London on Wednesday evening.
 
The top awards, which went to an officer from Greater Sudbury and another from Windsor,  honour police who have gone above and beyond the call of duty, and best exemplify the qualities of policing professionals in the province.
 
Kellar and Bennett were also recognized for their actions in earning their nominations.
